BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
In October of 2015, we began partnering with Pastor David Power and Church Mexico to provide resources for a newly created Before and After School Program. This program provides a place for the children to come, either before or after school, where they receive help from a tutor with their school work. Also provided are classes in art, music, woodworking, English as a second language, citizenship, and healthy living. On occasion, the children go on Field Trips as pictured above at the Children's Discovery Museum in San Luis Rio Colorado. For many of these children this was the first time they had ever gone into town. Living South of the Canal, they have no transportation.
God's provision has been miraculous. Our Hearts Empowering the Poor family has donated musical instruments, art supplies, money to start up the Woodworking classes, equipment for the woodworking classes and so much more.
It has been a joy to watch children who have never played an instrument now be leading worship in their church services. It is a joy to watch children who now have resources create beautiful art projects. Most of all, it is a blessing and joy to enter the classroom and have the children greet those who come in with a "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon".
