School Sponsorship

We are pleased to partner with an organization called Hands Extended which provides scholarships for the children of families who are unable to provide uniforms and school supplies for their children to attend school.  Scholarships range from $225 to $600 per year depending on the age and grade of the student.  Please contact us if you are interested in sponsoring a needy child.

Sponsoring a Home for a Family

We build OSB houses for families that are in need of immediate shelter.  Typically, we can complete an OSB Casita in 2 1/2 days.  The cost of an OSB Casita is $3,000.00.

Medical Donations


Donations of unexpired medical supplies, wheelchairs, walkers, hospital equipment, diagnostic equipment, especially ultrasound, dental supplies and diapers are needed for the Clinic and The Red Cross in SLRC. 

Community Outreach

In addition to Fiestas, Movie Nights, and Household donations, we minister in orphanages, food kitchens and support two Before/After School Programs.  Should you wish to participate, please contact us for specific information on how you can help in our Community Outreach Ministry.

Ministry Materials

Year round we collect clean, gently worn shoes of all sizes, coats for all ages, blankets, mittens,knit caps ministry tracks in Spanish, Spanish Bibles,  school supplies, toys and some household items. We also need small furniture for the casitas.

 Food Ministry

The greatest need for the people living in poverty in San Luis Rio Colorado is food.  Our food bag ministry provides a week's worth of food for a family of 4 and costs $25.00. It is very difficult to get food across the border.  Should you wish to help in our Food Distribution ministry, your cash donation is most helpful.  Please make your check payable to Hearts Empowering the Poor and  indicate "Food Ministry" on your check.  Thank you.

20' Enclosed Trailer

God has blessed this ministry with a 20' enclosed trailer capable of transporting 3-1/2 ton of donations to SLRC each time we go. We are so grateful for the donations we receive. Please help us fill it up!!
