Matthew 25:35-40
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat...........I needed clothes and you clothed me.........
I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
The greatest need the people have living South of the Canal is the ability to feed their family. It is particularly challenging because it is impossible to get bulk food across the border. In San Luis Rio Colorado, we purchase beans, rice, and potatoes in 50# and 100# bags and salt in 1# containers. At the church, South of the Canal, we have teams who help us individually package these items for families.
We coordinate outreaches South of the Canal where teams give away blankets, coats, shoes, mittens, knitted hats, toys, candy, ministry tracks in Spanish, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, razors, combs, brushes and bags of food to families. Teams have also prepared Christmas gifts for the ladies who always are grateful for the things for their families but are rarely given something special for themselves. Our teams also give Food Bags filled with these items. Many times our teams share the gospel and pray for these families. Our main focus is to love the people with the love of Jesus as God leads and directs us.
Before each outreach, we ask God to lead us to those with the most need. God is faithful to guide and direct us. It is always a blessing to be a part of these outreaches. You certainly receive a greater blessing that you give.
